New in Versive: Real-time voice, AI usability tests, and more

Here's what we've been cooking up in June and July. This is one of our biggest updates yet: two new products in preview, powerful insight features, dozens of AI survey upgrades, and more.

Real-time voice interviews

We've launched a new type of study: real-time voice and video interviews. They’re designed to feel like a real Zoom call with a live interviewer. The AI responds way faster, you can interrupt it, and the experience feels more natural and dynamic.

It’s still in beta and we’re actively making improvements, but it’s available now for all Versive customers to try. It won’t count against your usage while in beta.

Run usability tests with AI users

We've launched a new tool that lets you test designs with AI users in minutes, with no need to schedule sessions or recruit participants. It sits somewhere between a usability test and heuristic evaluation. It’s not a replacement for testing with real users, but it’s a quick way to catch issues and improve designs when you don't have time for interviews.

Here's how it works:

• Upload a prototype and choose the screens you want to test
• Your custom AI persona walks through it like a real user
• In about a minute, you get a report with feedback and actionable recommendations

Big upgrades to study insights

Generate summary podcasts

You can now generate a podcast-style audio summary for your study. These summaries include key takeaways, participant quotes, and are a great way to share insights with your team (you can even listen at 2x speed)!

Add custom sections to reports

We’ve added custom insights to reports to help you get answers to questions that go beyond any one survey question. Simply add a custom question to your report, and we’ll analyze each full transcript to identify recurring themes, quantify them, and incorporate supporting quotes.

View all responses for each question You can now view all responses to a question directly from the insights page. This works for both structured and AI questions. If you want to dig in further, click a message and we'll take you straight to that moment in the transcript.

Tons of new AI survey features

We’ve added a bunch of enhancements to AI surveys, including:

• Matrix ranking questions
• Open comment counts shown in the question bar
• Comment boxes that auto-expand as you type
• More control over how images and videos are displayed (size, autoplay, looping)
• Cleaner participant transcriptions with better punctuation and fewer filler words
• Support for assets in question templates

Plus, loads of extras

We’ve also made lots of additional enhancements to our platform, including:

• Share and download clips from uploaded interviews
• Duplicate participant panels
• Study owners now get notified when someone completes a screener
• Infrastructure improvements, performance upgrades, and bug fixes.
